OS-Tan, A MOE Windows Assistant

G'nite everyone.
This is the first information post in this blog.

Okay, I want to share about OS-Tan.
Several months a go, while I'm doing some exercise in the Computer's Lab, I saw an image from my senior's notebook. This is the example.

Sorry, it's too BWK :

Photobucket

At least, I'm thinking? "Wow, my senior is an otaku, too".  That image looks like Haruhi Suzumiya (haha, lol). And then, after googling some images, I realized... THAT'S NOT HARUHI !!!
After looking everywhere, I found some information about that image from 9gag, then I knew that...

That character isn't belonged from anime or game, but a meme-phenomena from Japan, it's came from Futaba-Channel. At a glance, it looks like Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid.
This character's project is OS-Tan. It's a mascot that represented as a helper OS, comes with Sound Effect originally from Japan. Usually appearing in the interactive flash animation with the moe characters. Suffix-Tan (たん) it is a misinterpretation from-Chan, close calls on friends or young family. OS mascot similar to the average set in a girl aged 16. For those who ever watched "Ryuusei no Rockman" anime, it's implementation same like that. A character in a device. But the difference is, OS-Tan can't think themselves (perhaps in its development can think for themselves, hopefully).

It's the preview from Youtube.

Okay, we finally know this character had a codename. Her name is Nanami Madobe. Nanami is the first Official OS-Tan that fully supported by Microsoft.

First?

Yes, first.

FYI, Project OS-Tan was actually started from Windows ME. But because it's OS-Tan gets a lot of criticism because of frequent crashes. ME-Tan finally repaired and illustrations introduced to the public on August 6, 2003 (XP-2K3 Era). ME-Tan eventually became popular and OS-Tan continues to be developed until now. Although it continues to be developed, but ... we should thank Microsoft finally willing to acknowledge and provide support on Windows 8's. Hopefully will continue until the next OS.

BTW, every OS has its own mascot.
